Silterra appoints Eg as CEO |

Silterra Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Silterra) has appointed Eg Kah Yee as its chief executive officer (CEO) and as an executive director, effective Jan 3.
He takes over from outgoing chief executive Bruce Gray. He was the founder of application-specific integrated circuit/system-on-a-chip design company Key ASIC.
Eg also started Synopsys Asia Pacific where he served as Asia Pacific general manager.
He began his career as a research and development engineer in Silicon Valley in the US before moving to Asia. He spent more than 15 years in the electronic design automation/IC design/semiconductor industry as well as in the investment community with leading venture capital companies.
Gray joined the semiconductor wafer foundry company in June 2003 as its executive vice president and chief operating officer. He was appointed chief executive officer in July 1, 2005.
Gray was instrumental in making it globally competitive in the semiconductor wafer fabrication sector.
Khazanah Nasional Bhd is the principal investor in Silterra.
