This was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the progress update of The Economic Transformation Programme here Monday.
Najib said under the Electrical and Electronics NKEA, Infineon Technologies has committed to invest RM4 billion in the Kulim Hi-Tech Park over the next 10 years and create 1,000 new jobs, 400 of which will be highly skilled.
The third major contributor for new projects in the NKEA is Boustead Heavy Industries, which will invest RM1.57 billion to move up the value chain of the shipbuilding and ship repair industry.
